Big Horn Fire!!
For over a week, 9,000 acres have been burning despite valiant efforts by over five hundred firefighters. Spotter plans, tanker planes and helicopters run dawn to dusk dousing flames. Over a hundred degree temperatures and heavy nighttime winds fan and redirect the inferno overnight forcing responders to begin anew. We can see it from our house in Arizona. Many have been forced to evacuate, most returning home the next day.
So far we’re safe. We’re hoping for the heavy desert monsoons to drench the scorched desert mountain. Here’s what we see from our backyard.
